Some of these photographs have appeared in major newspapers and have circulated through the Internet...but I was the recipient with about 50 others of an e-mail a friend wrote>"This is a nice departure from the usual doom and gloom pix we see from our progresive press." And to look at these photographs one is humbled by the sacrifices others make in order for us to continue living in "la la" land, press included...

Thank you for sharing these photos. There are some great websites now that show some of the good news coming from Iraq and Afghanistan, like chernkoff.blogspot.com.
Great photos! I think I was also the recipient of the same e-mail. The progressive papers of this world will soon change their tune when their readership starts diminishing...and Ha! it already started in 2004 with the pajama crowd.
